Vice Presidential Speech |
Good Morning, my fellow Americans. My name is Jillian Geller, and I am running for President, alongside Michael Pascua as my Vice President. I am a candidate for the presidential position because I am strong and smart. When I was younger, I practically grew up in the hospital. I grew up with a medical condition that definitely affected the way I did certain activities. Knowing I had many challenges, I never gave up. I was determined to not allow anyone or anything become an obstacle for me. Because of that, the dedication I put towards overcoming these obstructions have allowed me to accomplish many things. One achievement I have made was becoming captain of the Mepham Varsity Badminton Team. I am recognizing this specific accomplishment of mine because it shows I have leader-like qualities to make this country great again. Another of my achievements is becoming a soprano section leader in Pirate Radio. I am acknowledging this because I believe this is another position that proves that I could be a powerful leader for our country. I would like to be President because I believe that I could make many changes to this country that will benefit you, the citizens of our country. Some of the changes that I would like to focus on are towards the economy, education, and foreign relations with other countries. I believe in myself that I would make this country a better place for all of us.
One of the issues I will choose to address is the field of education. Education is tremendously important for all communities around the world. Various countries have different standards on what they are required to teach. A great number of students take specific standardized tests that help them place into classes that suit them and their abilities of learning. I believe that standardized testing is necessary, but the test grades they receive should not be taken as seriously as we make it out to be. I want students to take these state mandated tests because it will help teachers know their students deficiencies so they know how to alleviate their students struggles. Another issue throughout the education field are charter schools. Charter schools are publicly funded schools throughout low-income neighborhoods to provide an education for children who cannot afford it. I would like to abolish charter schools because they are funded by the government, but yet they are not regulated by the government; they operate like private schools. They operate more loosely and are not compelled to follow the standards of our public school system. If they are going to continue using government monies, they should be held to the same standards as our public schools. One last topic I would like to address is the price of college. College is very expensive nowadays and is causing a lot of families stress. Due to the excessive cost of a college education, If I were president, I would lower the price of college for low income families by allowing the prospective student to apply for a special application that would give the student an opportunity to work for the college while going to school, that would defray the students’ expenses. It would save our economy a ton of money, but also will help our community grow intellectually. Another issue I have chosen to address is foreign policy. Our country has many foreign relations with multiple countries throughout the world. On another note, terrorism has become a huge problem and needs to be stopped. ISIS is a radical islamic terrorist group that has caused many problems throughout our society. Over the years, these terrorist groups have become very strong and have not been afraid to hurt any country. Members of ISIS have gathered tons of money from donors who support their cause and have been fully capable of buying dangerous weapons and materials to destroy everything within their path. They are a threat to the United States because these groups believe they are the most powerful people in the entire world. Members of ISIS have caused so much tension between our foreign relations and these acts of terror need to be stopped so we can be civil and keep our country safe and secure. They think they are fully capable of destroying everything they want to destroy. The recent chemical warfare attack by Syria upon its own population points up the necessity of getting countries like Syria to eliminate the use of chemical weapons. I feel this can be done best by investigating where countries like Syria are getting the funds for these weapons. Along with our allies, and possibly with help from the United Nations, we can determine where the funds are coming from and sanction the countries providing those monies. Due to the acts of terrorism that have occurred within our own country, it is of the utmost importance to heighten our security protocols in schools and all public venues. With my staff, we will be working tirelessly to that end. Although our economy is strong now, and unemployment is low, it will be necessary to continue to grow this economy. One problem throughout our economy is national debt. In March of 2018, our country’s debt exceeded $21 trillion. The United States of America have the biggest sovereign debt in the world for one country. By many people buying bonds, U.S. Treasury bills, and notes, our country owes a lot of money to our public citizens. Social Security and other trust funds are the biggest owners of Government Account Securities. One reason of national debt being so large are budget deficits. After 9/11, “The War on Terror” sparked, causing the military to spend almost double the amount of money they usually spend. If I were president, I would decrease spending by lowering taxes and get rid of duplicative programs and take the savings and reduce income taxes. Another option to growing our economy is bringing back major corporations that, because of foreign incentives, have located their companies outside of the United States of America. It is very important that I, along with my staff, must devise a comprehensive plan to bring these companies back to the United States, thereby creating a larger workforce and more taxes into our economy that can be used for many programs, such as infrastructure, security, and education. No longer will it be acceptable for companies to allow a pay differential based on gender. Only experience and qualifications should determine rate of pay. For too long, have women been receiving lesser pay than their male counterparts simply because they’re women. The courts will implement that policy. I believe I can make a drastic change to our country. With the help of my powerful staff, we will make sure to keep this country a safe and happy environment. I want to make sure you, our citizens, feel secure and confident that you can all achieve what you want to achieve. Thank you, and have an amazing rest of your day. |
Good morning my fellow citizens. I, Michael Pascua, will be running for Vice President along with Jillian Geller as our President. I firmly believe that I am a strong candidate because my dedication and determination is second to none. Ever since I was a little kid, I knew my family was different and dealt with problems in a distinctive way. They were raised with a foreign culture and raised me with tough love. As a child, I took the initiative and lead myself into a better life. I wanted to make my life better and learn to be more independent. My determination and dedication lead me on a path to figure out a way of life I can live and help myself for any situation that came in the way. With this life lesson I learned that with motivation and a hunger for change, anything can happen. Throughout my life many different leaders have inspired me but the most inspirational leaders that affected me were Theodore Roosevelt for his ideas on foreign affairs, Lyndon Johnson with his views on education and Barack Obama on his economic policies. However, like Theodore Roosevelt, I push myself to achieve what I want to achieve. These former presidents achieved many accomplishments throughout their presidency and that is my potential goal as Vice President.
As President, Theodore Roosevelt was known as the “Peacemaker” because he dealt with foreign affairs with his own hands. I want our country to be safe as possible from any foreign affairs such as ISIS. ISIS has been a humongous impact to our country and built fear within. Just like former President Theodore Roosevelt, I believe in a more proactive approach to ISIS. Although we have been fighting the same war for years, ISIS needs to be shut down for good. As a country, we are a superpower in this world and we need to handle this with our own hands. We should amplify the voices of many anti-ISIS groups and individuals who work against the terrorist group such as the group of people in Raqqa. Every moment ISIS can get more followers and supporters around the world, they become more of a threat. By amplifying these groups they shut down propaganda that support ISIS. The less they grow, the easier it’ll be to bring down this world threat. My top priority is to keep my citizens safe and worry free. We may be a powerful country but we, as a country, are lacking with education. Education is a very important part of a growing nation. One of the country’s most important aspect is education. The younger generations of this country need to be educated because they are the future leaders of America. I was inspired by Lyndon Johnson’s approach to education during his term. He supported low income schools so everyone can obtain good education all throughout the nation and created a program called Head Start for kids with developmental delays. It helped millions of kids prepare for preschool and elementary school. It inspired me to have an idea to create a program to increase the amount of kids under the age of 5 to attend a high quality early childhood education program to give them more knowledge before going into elementary school. America is behind other developed countries’ education because they start at an early age. With this program, I believe that America will be a striving country for education. However this program will not strive if we don’t have quality teachers all around the nation. We should focus on training, recruiting and supporting teachers. Without great teachers, the youth will not have anyone to teach them successfully on topics they need to learn. We will modify the preparation process for soon to be teachers to have more experience in the real world. By doing so, they grow as leaders and are ready to help the youth learn without any issues. Also, I believe if we encourage college saving programs, more students will proceed into college and graduate. Money is a huge factor to attending a college, especially for low income communities. If this program is to be approved, the number of students who attend college, obtain a college degree and find a job will significantly increase. Nothing can happen without the money behind it. My inspiration for my economic policy is Barack Obama. Former president of the United States, Barack Obama, created a stimulus bill to help the economy. Back in 2009 the economy was spiraling down and he recovered the economy with his American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. My economic policy for this nation will help create jobs to stimulate the economy and help it grow. By implementing more jobs, more income is funded to the government. By doing so this, It will help programs and other organizations grow to make this country function the way its suppose to. The unemployment rate would decrease tremendously, helping the nation grow by making the working field better by providing more job opportunities for individual families. But for the unemployed, we shall create a program in which they volunteer in a nonprofit company for a certain amount of time a week. By doing so they will increase the amount of skill they have learned and they will have a better time finding a job. Growth of the economy is my plan for this country All I want for this country is the absolute best. I will help this country be one of the leading countries in the world with education, and economic strength. With Jillian Geller as the President and I, Michael Pascua for Vice President, we will make sure this country is the country of growth and prosperity while being the most powerful country out there. We will protect you and your families. We will seek change for the people and for this nation. Thank you everyone for listening and I hope to be your next Vice President. |
